There is a certain rabbit who haunts my lawn (with my welcome!), gobbling up dandelions stem to tip. Today during the hottest part of the day she positively lounged; she stretched over on her side in the shadow of the flowering crab and chilled like a beach bum. It brings back good memories of a story I began writing about a mangy, lonely rabbit called Bump. The only trouble is that the story also contains an absolutely neurotic squirrel called Racket who isn't quite as funny to me as he used to be! But perhaps one day soon I'll set my pen to finishing it.
Today even the shadow of trees were beautiful to me, hallelujah! A few good hours is good news indeed.
